Day 45 To Bärö
We had two locations in mind, in the end we plumped for the one with the barrel sauna and good restaurant reviews.
Well we were not disappointed. Such was our enjoyment of the place I forgot to take any photo's.
As we arrived Linda said to me "We are being filmed" and sure enough the owner had engaged a photographer to take photo's and videos for their website/Facebook pages etc. It will be interesting to check back in a few weeks to see if we are featured.
We called in advance as we had heard that they had an alongside space for larger yachts. So we had a prime spot and once we tied up Linda and I had drinks on the patio. It was like arriving at a luxury hotel. We immediatly booked the restaurant and then texted Crystal Venture who we were tracking as it looked like they might be near us later in the day. They said yes please and their ETA was 7pm, so the table was booked for 7.30!
The marina/restaurant has a barrel sauna in the harbour. With an access ladder into the sea. We booked it and this time we all went in together as this was a costume on sauna. After the first sauna Richard was the first to plunge into the sea closely followed by none-to-keen Charlotte. Then the whale flopped in and finally (drum roll) Linda! yes she did it, she did it, she did it, she positively did it.
The dinner was the best I have had since leaving England, it was fantastic. I can't say how wonderful it was and the hospitality of the owner. It worked out at a reasonable £40 per head including drinks which is not bad for Finland.
The restaurant is called the Restaurang Glada Laxen (The Happy Salmon) and if you want to see some photo's on the restaurant website click here.
