Day 44 A lazy day

A real rarity, we did a short 12 mile hop on our way to Mariehamn. We read about this delightful island run by a family where they are making everything themselves. We left with very light winds and the Captain decided to sail it. Some people were not impressed as all we anxious to just get there and have a relaxing day. Well we had a relaxing sail and it did take a little longer but not by much as Sea Crusader goes really well in light winds from the right direction.

When we arrived it just was lovely, we made lunch opened some wine and Charlotte took a fantastic photo of us. We were gently relaxing enjoying one of the good days here when what should happen but two other boats on our rally happened to just pass, so I took their photo.


After lunch Richard and Charlotte went to do some exploring whilst we sorted out the unfinished wine problem. We then wandered to the shop to ask about the sauna, they has two 20€ for the small one and 35€ for the one in the woods. We declined the small one was awful, but what a mistake we had made.

Later Linda and I went for a walk and we found the sauna in the woods, it was located on a private beach and was the most beautiful luxury building with beautiful bathing platform in complete privacy. However you really need to be there at the right time with the right weather to get the most from it.
