What changes have we made?

Delivery and fist change

We the first change we have made is one which I have to admit was purely for vanity… We asked Berthon to add a burgee stick to the top of the mast to allow us to fly our club burgee from the correct place. Apart from looking splendid it also means that we do not fly it from below the starboard spreader and then have to swap sides when we need to fly a courtesy flag. It was not cheap but I am really happy with it because they have done a really good job.

"Traditionally, the burgee is flown at the main masthead. A burgee must match a special Ensign if one is worn and it should always be higher than the Ensign. Flag etiquette states that only one burgee is flown at a time, but it is not uncommon nowadays to see yachts flying more than one burgee. Although this might cause offence to some, there is nothing legally wrong with this practice provided the rules governing the wearing of a special ensign are adhered to."
