What are we doing?

It was time to go around the Chenal du Four once again on our route home. The plan was to go to Roscoff for Ian's birthday but it was to far for a single hop in holiday mode. Graham and I had done Rocoff to Cameret on the delivery but that is different and the winds were more conducive at that time.

As ever when leaving Cameret we had great winds, they always seem to be in a great direction if entering or leaving and this was no exception. Once we turned north the winds were still in a god direction and we made god progress. It was a bit of a race as we were hoping to arrive in time for lunch.

As we approached the entrance the winds were building and we reduced sail to the doing that we only had the jib out and still we tramped on. As we entered the harbour there were lost of buoys free but in this place the price for a buoy and the marina are almost identical so we decided to try for the marina. We were soon met by the harbour master in his boat and we asked if we could go on the outside of the marina. there was a small British boat just tying up in the middle of a big space so the harbour master asked them to move up and we waited. The wind was now strongly blowing us off so I briefed the crew on what I wanted to happen. To our surprise there was only two cleats on pontoon and that is not good when you have four lines to attach and this explains why the other boat was taking their time. Unfortunately the harbour master tried to help and put a spring on before the stern line was attached which made things very difficult for Linda. I always discourage outside help no matter how well intended they don't know the plan.

Once tied up it was 1:15pm and so we were off as in France lunch is not served after 2pm. We knew of a nice restaurant around the corner that we were too late for last time but this time we were welcomed. Once inside it looked like the whole village were there for their lunch too. We had a lovely lunch a short walk and then back to the boat, I think we watched a film.
