Day 24 Leaving Gotska Sandön
The weather continues to improve thank goodness and so after a peaceful night we donned swimming costumes and sailed for Tallinn.
Tallinn is 210 miles so it will take about 30 hours non-stop depending upon the wind and engine.
Beep, Beep Beep….. the bilge alarm went off. I hadn't pumped the bilge for a long time so I was not alarmed but when it went off again shortly afterwards it was obvious that we were taking in water. I went to the engine room to discover a personal fountain, a jubilee clip had completely corroded (Wrong type of stainless had been used) and the pipe it was holding came loose. So I stopped the engine and got two new jubilee clips of British design (far superior) of the correct grade of stainless and replaced it. Problem solved, but when we get to Tallinn, I am going to replace all the clips in the engine room if I can find a chandler.
