A day sail to Lymington

After a long dark winter we are finally allowed to return to day sailing. We thought that the weather looked favourable for a lunch stop in Lymington before heading back to the Hamble. We have not expected to have to motor in both directions but there really was not any wind at all. Normally I wouldn't post about a day trip but this was so extraordinary. We were virtually the only boat out and whilst there was no wind the conditions were really lovely.

"Is there anybody out there!"

-Roger Walters

Whilst the shops were not open, we were able to drop off our cruising chute to Sanders Sails we had the kind help of another Discovery owner who put the sail in his car otherwise we would have struggled with the weight carrying it along the road.

We had a quick lunch in the cockpit and then we made the return journey to Hamble.

  • Cool but sunny, no complaints after being in the flat
  • There is nobody here but us chickens.
