Day 11 Thank God Aberdaron Bay

We woke up this morning and the forecast was even better than expected so we decided to head for St David's Bay and if the conditions allow we would keep going.

We set off at 7:30 as soon as there was enough water over the cill. There was not much wind and so we had a calm start to the day. We headed across the bay to St David's Head at a great pace and found the conditions were perfect so we went straight through he narrow channel and past The Bitches.

Coming out the other side we found that the overfalls were bigger than expected and there was no going back as the tide was racing through at over 4knots.

We kept going motoring all the way, we were still head to very light winds and we could not even motor sail but we were finally crossing Cardigan Bay. One the other side we had made the decision to anchor in Aberdaron Bay not really sure if it would be a good place to anchor or not. There was nothing in the books about it and only one report on the Cruising Association website.

We arrived at about 8pm and it was perfect there were already five other boats anchored and two arrived after us it was smooth and comfortable. Tomorrow Ireland (finger crossed).
